Google Contacts Integration: We offer 1-way sync with Google Contacts: When you create a new contact or update that contact’s profile in Copper, the new profile or profile update will sync to Google Contacts immediately. This lets you manage all your contacts in Google Contacts, regardless of whether they’re initially stored in Copper or Google Apps. If you add a new person in Google Contacts, it will not sync to Copper.
Tech mistake | Note: This is 1-way sync, so contacts and updates made in Google Contacts will not sync back to Copper.
Activate the Google Contacts sync
You can activate the 1-way sync from Copper to Google Contacts by taking the following steps:
- Sign in to your Copper account, and click ‘Settings’ from the left-hand menu.
- Under ‘Preferences,’ click ‘Google Sync Settings.’
- Check the box that says ‘Google Contact 1-Way Sync.’
- Sign in to your Google Contacts account, and locate the ‘Copper’ folder on the left-hand side to see the sync in action:
Note: If you sync Google Contacts to your iPhone, your iPhone will ignore the Copper folder by default. Your iPhone will only pull from the ‘Contacts’ folder in Google Contacts. If you try to move contacts from the ‘Copper’ folder to the ‘Contacts’ folder, Copper will re-populate its ‘Copper’ folder at the next 1-way sync, creating duplicate contacts. We do have a workaround for syncing these contacts successfully to your iPhone.
