Apple Kills iPhone X – Not good news for those who recently bought iPhone X; with the launch of the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, Apple has decided to discontinue the 10th anniversary iPhone X launched just a year back. Apple iPhone X which was launched with a price tag of $999 in November last year apparently doesn’t fit into the company’s strategy going further.

It’s interesting to know that iPhone X was the top-selling iPhone every week as claimed by Tim Cook in February.

Tech mistake | iPhone X is the not only model Apple has decided to kill. Apple has also removed iPhone SE and iPhone 6s from the website.

The just-launched iPhone XS is price tagged with $999, the most expensive iPhone XS Max with $1099, and the low price variant iPhone XR with $749. It’s obvious with three new models Apple finds it tough to justify the presence of the iPhone X.

The decision to kill iPhone X will have a direct impact on the resale value of the iPhone X. Those who recently bought the iPhone X may find it difficult to upgrade by selling the iPhone X in the open market at a reasonable price.

However, it’s unclear if Apple’s decision to kill iPhone X, iPhone 6s, and iPhone SE is limited to just the US market or worldwide.

So far the company has opted to have a different strategy for emerging markets, such as India, where discontinued iPhones models are still available.

The decision to discontinue iPhone X appears a part of a strategy to push the sales of the newly launched iPhone XS Max. While there is a significant difference in features and specification between iPhone X and iPhone XS Max, people might have found iPhone X lucrative enough, especially after the price drop, had Apple decided to continue iPhone X.

While it is not immediately clear what plans and offers Apple has got for the existing iPhone X users who are willing to upgrade, Apple may announce a new upgrade policy soon to hook existing iPhone X users with iPhone XS Max. Apple Kills iPhone X
